A bougainvillea is a type of flower that is native to South America. It is a beautiful, bright punch of pink and looks beautiful all year because of the warmer climates. This Bonsai has lots of these little flowers all over and even little buds that are 'soon to bloom'. 
But what makes this Bonsai so special is the 'Shitakusa' which means 'undergrass' in Japanese and is usually a little complimentary plant to a Bonsai. In this case it is pincushion moss.
